Datuk Sulaiman bin Daud was appointed a Director in 2003. Datuk began his career with Malaysian Tobacco Company Berhad (now British American Tobacco Company Berhad) where he started his career as a trainee executive in 1968 and progressed to become the Deputy Chief Executive/Executive Director until 1992. He was a Director of the Agricultural Bank of Malaysia for two years and later became Chairman for four terms of eight years. Under his leadership the Bank was transformed into a corporatised entity, today known as AGRO Bank. He has been Chairman of Ranhill Power Berhad, Director of Malaysia Nasional Insurance Berhad and Ho Hup Construction Company Berhad. He currently sits on the Boards of Konsortium Transnasional Berhad, Pharmaniaga Berhad and is also the Chairman of Malaysia Packaging Industry Berhad. He is also a Director of UMS Link Holdings Sdn Bhd and Chairman of UMS Link Agro Based Sdn Bhd as well as Director and Chairman of a number of private companies in Malaysia and abroad in various industries. More recently he was appointed as an Advisory Panel Member of the Commercialisation Panel for the Research and Development initiatives for all Public Universities in Malaysia. He was also the Board member of University Putra Malaysia and the Chairman of the Malaysia Syria Business Council. He has a diploma in Agriculture from the College of Agriculture (now University Putra Malaysia), graduating as the Most Outstanding Student in 1968. He has a Masters in Business Administration from IMC Buckingham and he graduated from Stanford-Insead Advanced Management Programme in Fontainbleau, France. He spends a considerable part of his time now seeking and developing business opportunities in the Middle East/Eastern Europe and in the Asean Region.
